PLEASE READ THESE TERMS CAREFULLY BEFORE ENTERING


By entering the Music Recognition Awards ("the Awards"), using this website or participating in any part of the Awards, you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions.


1. Promoter

1.1 The Music Recognition Awards are organised and promoted by the Twisted Group ("the Promoter"), an independent organisation dedicated to supporting the underground music community through awards, media, events, radio, record label and community initiatives.


2. Eligibility

2.1 The Awards are open to residents of the United Kingdom and Europe aged 13 years or over, unless otherwise stated for a specific category.

2.2 Entrants under the age of 18 must have permission from a parent or legal guardian where required by law.

2.3 The Promoter reserves the right to request proof of age or identity.

2.4 The Music Recognition Awards celebrate talent, dedication and contribution to music regardless of age, experience or career stage. The Promoter reserves the right to refuse entries that do not meet the published eligibility requirements or are inconsistent with the aims of the Awards.


3. No Purchase Necessary

3.1 No purchase is necessary to enter the Awards.

3.2 Entry is subject to these Terms & Conditions.


4. Entry Period

4.1 Application dates, voting periods, finalist announcements and event information will be published on the official Music Recognition Awards website and social media channels.

4.2 Late, incomplete or invalid applications may not be accepted.


5. How to Enter


General Requirements

• One entry per person per category.

• Maximum of three genre submissions where applicable.

• Minimum experience requirements will be published for each category where relevant.


DJ Categories

Entrants must submit:

• 15–20 minute MP4 video.

• Matching WAV audio file.

The video must clearly show:

• The DJ.

• The equipment being used.

• Manual mixing using pitch control.

Use of the Sync function is not permitted unless specifically stated for a category.

No MCs or additional performers may appear unless permitted within the category rules.


MC Categories

Entrants must submit:

• 3–5 minute MP4 performance.

• Matching WAV audio.

The performance must:

• Clearly show the performer.

• Contain the words "Music Recognition" and "Twisted" within the performance.

• Be clearly audible.


Producer Categories

Entrants must submit:

• Video demonstrating the project within their DAW.

• Matching WAV audio file.

Submitted tracks may be used for:

• Judging.

• Public voting where applicable.

• Promotion of the Awards.

Copyright always remains with the creator.


Submission Method

Applications must be submitted through:

www.themusicrecognitionawards.com & filese mailed via WeTransfer to mra@twistedofficial.com

or by approved file transfer methods where requested.

Each application should include:

• Full Name

• Artist Name

• Contact Details

• Category Entered


6. Content Standards

All submissions must:

• Be original work.

• Not infringe copyright.

• Not contain unlawful, defamatory or offensive material.

• Be suitable for public viewing.

Failure to comply may result in disqualification.


7. Artificial Intelligence

The Music Recognition Awards celebrates original creativity.

Where a category requires original creative work, entries that consist primarily of AI-generated music, performances, artwork or other content may be refused or disqualified.

The Promoter reserves the right to request evidence of authorship where reasonably necessary.


8. Copyright & Intellectual Property

Entrants retain ownership of their submissions.

By entering, participants grant the Promoter a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to use submitted material for:

• Judging

• Promotion

• Website publication

• Social media

• Marketing

• Press coverage

• Future Music Recognition Awards promotion

This licence does not transfer ownership.


9. Judging & Voting

Public voting may be used for selected categories.

The judging panel reserves the right to:

• Remove fraudulent votes.

• Investigate suspicious activity.

• Verify eligibility.

• Merge or remove categories.

• Select winners where required.

The judges' decision is final.

No correspondence regarding judging decisions will be entered into.


10. Finalists & Winners

Finalists will be contacted using the details supplied on their application.

Winners will normally be announced during the official Awards event.

Prizes may include:

• Trophy

• Certificate

• Performance opportunities

• Promotional opportunities

Prizes are:

• Non-transferable.

• Non-exchangeable.

• Subject to availability.

The Promoter reserves the right to substitute prizes where necessary.


11. Live Event

Participants, performers and guests are expected to behave respectfully.

The Promoter reserves the right to:

• Remove individuals displaying abusive or unsafe behaviour.

• Amend event schedules.

• Change venues.

• Alter running orders.

• Cancel performances where necessary.


12. Photography & Filming

By attending any Music Recognition Awards event you acknowledge that photographs, video recordings and live broadcasts may be captured.

These may be used for:

• Website content

• Social media

• Marketing

• Editorial use

• Historical archive

No additional compensation will be payable.


13. Accessibility & Inclusion

The Music Recognition Awards is committed to creating an inclusive environment and welcomes participants from all backgrounds and abilities.

Reasonable adjustments will be considered wherever reasonably possible.


14. Data Protection

Personal information will be processed in accordance with:

• UK GDPR

• Data Protection Act 2018

15. Liability

The Promoter accepts no responsibility for:

• Lost or delayed applications.

• Website interruptions.

• Technical failures.

• Internet outages.

• Third-party platform failures.

Nothing within these Terms excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded under the laws of England and Wales.


16. Disqualification

The Promoter reserves the right to disqualify any participant who:

• Breaches these Terms.

• Provides false information.

• Manipulates voting.

• Uses fraudulent methods.

• Brings the Awards into disrepute.


17. Website Use

Users must not:

• Attempt unauthorised access.

• Upload malicious software.

• Copy website content without permission.

• Misrepresent their identity.

• Use the website for unlawful purposes.


18. Changes

The Promoter reserves the right to amend these Terms & Conditions where reasonably necessary.

The latest version will always be available on the official website.


19. Governing Law

These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales.

Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
